Excess: definition

All our car rentals offer already include the following insurances : Liability Insurance, Theft Protection and Collision Damage Waiver. An excess may still be required. An Excess is the amount you are liable for in the event of loss or damage to the vehicle. The amount is specified on your rental agreement and usually charged as a deposit when you pick up the car. We offer an insurance with no excess, which means that you will not have to pay the excess in case of theft or damage. We strongly recommend this option for a car rental with more confidence

In order to purchase the no excess option, select "No Excess" in step 2. If you can not find any option under "No Excess", you still can book a comprehensive insurance in step 3. This insurance is underwritten by a third party (Mondial Assistance) and costs only 5.5 Euros per day!

Liability Insurance - Every country sets a minimum amount of insurance required to drive a car. Liability insurance covers damages to other people and/or their goods that a driver is legally liable for. The most of time the insurance is limited to 1 000 000 euros and an excess, up to a certain amount, must often be paid. Theft Protection (TP) - This insurance reduces or cancels your liability if the vehicle is stolen. Sometimes, an excess may still be required. You can check this amount by clicking on "Booking Terms & Conditions" in step 2 under "Coverage/Insuranse".

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - This insurance reduces or cancels your financial liability if the vehicle is damaged. The collision damage waiver does not include windscreens, tyres, external and internal accesorries and towing charges. Sometimes, an excess may still be required.
